Fan Letter Piyashi Sengupta – When Music Made Us Cry
💭 Not All Messages Come with Music—Some Come with Meaning
As artists, we often get compliments, messages, and fan love. But once in a while, a note comes along that doesn’t just praise your work—it redefines your purpose.
A few years ago, I received a handwritten letter from a young woman in Kolkata, delivered through a friend who attended one of my live shows. There was no email, no phone number—just her words on paper. And those words… stayed with me.
📖 The Letter That Silenced Me
She introduced herself as a cancer survivor. In her letter, she wrote:
“I listened to your song ‘Bhalobasha Bujhina’ every day during my chemotherapy. It felt like my friend was singing to me when no one else was around. It wasn’t just a song—it was a reason to smile.”
That sentence… it broke me. I had recorded that track for a Bengali album years ago, never imagining that a voice in a studio would one day become someone’s companion in pain.
🎶 When Notes Become a Lifeline
She didn’t ask for a reply. She just wanted me to know. And that was enough.
That fan reminded me that music has no limits—it doesn’t just entertain, it heals, comforts, and walks beside you when life gets heavy. Her letter wasn’t about me being a “star.” It was about music being human.
🕊️ I Kept That Letter—Always Will
To this day, that letter sits inside my harmonium case. I see it before almost every classical performance. It grounds me. It reminds me why I began this journey—not for applause, but for connection.
💬 To Everyone Who Has Ever Written In…
You may not know it, but your words stay with me. I read every message, cherish every video, and carry every emotion you share.
If you’ve ever felt something from my music, I’d love to know.
