🌟 Sometimes, the Purest Moments Come From the Smallest Towns

A few months ago, on a rainy afternoon, I opened my inbox to find something unexpected. A YouTube link, sent by a sweet young fan from Silchar, with a simple caption:
“Didi, I tried singing this song you performed. I hope you like it.”

The song she covered? “Boruxun Porise” — one of my earliest Assamese solos, a monsoon-inspired track that holds a very special place in my heart. Hearing her rendition gave me goosebumps. Not because of perfection, but because of pure, heartfelt effort.

🎧 Music Isn’t Always About Notes—It’s About Emotion

She had sung the song with such sincerity that I found myself smiling, tearing up, and feeling seen in the most unexpected way. Her voice wasn’t trained, but it was honest. Her expressions mirrored the soul of the composition, and I knew instantly—this is why I sing.

In that moment, I wasn’t a performer. I was someone whose music had quietly found its way into a young heart, hundreds of kilometers away. No awards, no big stage could ever match that feeling.

🎙️ When the Fan Becomes a Mirror

What made it even more touching was the little note she added:

“Your voice made me want to sing. I used to be shy, but when I heard you in ‘Deb Er Gaan,’ I felt like maybe I could try too.”

I was stunned. To know that something I recorded years ago could still inspire someone today—it reminded me that every song we release becomes someone’s first step toward their own voice.

📩 We Connected, And It’s a Memory I’ll Always Hold

I replied immediately. We spoke over email, and I learned more about her—her love for Assamese folk, her dream to learn Hindustani classical, and her simple joy of singing at school functions.

Since then, she’s sent me more clips, and I do my best to encourage her. Who knows, maybe she’ll audition for a music show one day. If she does, I’ll be the loudest cheer in her corner.

❤️ Why I’m Sharing This

In a world filled with algorithms, streaming numbers, and metrics—it’s easy to forget that music is personal. This young fan from Silchar reminded me that it only takes one genuine listener to make it all worthwhile.

To everyone who has ever sung along, messaged me, or shared their story—thank you. You are my biggest reason to keep going.
